Adopt A School Health Office

Established as a Minnesota based nonprofit in 2026

Mission: Supporting the mental health of students by providing resources to school health offices.

Our goal is simple: help school health offices better support the mental well-being of the

students they serve.

About Us

David Eccher, Chairman and Founder

After leading a company community project to provide materials for Mental Health support o school health offices, I searched for an organization that is doing this. Lots of focus on schools, classrooms, teachers, and students, but the School Health Office is often neglected!

We're here to help fill that gap.

I'm originally from Illinois, and have been living in Minnesota for over 30 years. I look forward to helping Minnesota schools, and then... maybe other states too!

Sue Bergsrud, Secretary

My interest in children’s mental health started many years ago. Back in high school, I chose autism as the topic for a research project, and that sparked an interest that has stayed with me throughout my life. It grew even more when I became a mom and later worked as a daycare provider. Being around children and families has shown me just how important it is for kids to feel supported, understood, and cared for.

I’m excited to be part of Adopt A School Health Office and to help support the school nurses and health professionals who play such an important role in the lives of children every day. It’s a cause that feels very close to my heart.

I was born and raised in West Central Minnesota and raised my two daughters there before moving to the Twin Cities and eventually to Rochester. I’m a proud mom of two daughters and Nana to four grandchildren, with another on the way! Children have always been a big part of my life, so being involved in an organization that helps support their well-being feels like a perfect fit. I’m excited to see what we can accomplish together!

About Us

Jason Druckman, Board Member

I’ve spent my career in healthcare leadership, working to improve the systems and processes that help people receive the care and support they need. When I learned more about AASHO, I immediately connected with the mission. School nurses are on the front lines of caring for students every day, but their offices can be overlooked when resources are being allocated. I’m excited to help AASHO fill that gap and make a tangible difference for school health offices and the students they serve.
